A 17-year-old female student is in a critical condition in hospital after being injured in a shooting at a high school in the US state of Colorado. The suspected gunman was found dead at the scene with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A 15-year-old girl was in critical condition after the shooting, suspected to have been carried out by an 18-year-old, Karl Pierson, who police say apparently shot himself at the scene.
