Man remanded in custody over police shootings

A man charged with the attempted murder of two police officers in Leeds has been remanded in custody after appearing in front of magistrates. A 33-year-old woman is in hospital recovering from serious gunshot wounds.

A man will appear in court later charged with the attempted murder of two police officers in Leeds.

James Leslie, 37,is also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a prohibited firearm, criminal damage and possession of cannabis.

A 33-year-old female officer was left with serious gunshot wounds from the incident.
