The Prison Service says an incident at Maidstone Prison, involving 40 inmates, has now been resolved without injury. National resources were deployed to deal with the incident. A second incident at Rye Hill prison in Warwickshire was also resolved.
An "on-going incident" is taking place at Maidstone Prison, said to involve "a number of prisoners". It is said to have been confined to one wing.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
