Natalie Evans, director of the New Schools Network, has said that the doubling of free schools is "great news for parents around the country".
These schools are providing choice and diversity for parents and the students who will be joining their new school this year - whether it's the first specialist maths and science sixth form in Norwich, a faith-sensitive school opening in a traditionally segregated community in Oldham or a primary school serving one of the most deprived communities in Newcastle.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
