Liverpool have signed two defenders on transfer deadline day with French international Mamadou Sakho and Thiago Ilori joining the club.
The two signings have cost Brendan Rodgers' side, who are top of the league after three games, £25 million.
Sakho, who played for Paris Saint-Germain, told Liverpool's website: "I'm delighted to be here. I'd like to thank everyone for the welcome. I came here because the project that is in place at Liverpool interests me. I'm really looking forward to playing my first game."
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
