Reporter's partner 'may have transported Snowden files'
There is a question mark as to whether police were acting within the law when they detained David Miranda under terror legislation.
We believe Mr Miranda was transporting more documents from US whistleblower Edward Snowden about US surveillance programmes back to his partner, journalist Glenn Greenwald.
When Mr Miranda arrived back in Brazil he said that police here had confiscated the drives on which those documents were stored and asked him questions about terrorism.
He and Mr Greenwald believe this was an attempt to intimidate them and to disrupt their journalistic investigations.
The Brazilian government is also angry and MPs and the independent reviewer of terror legislation here in the UK say they will be asking the police to justify this detention.
