Labour leader Ed Miliband has been egged during a visit to a street market in south London. The Metropolitan police has told ITV News it will not be making any arrests after the Labour leader "did not wish to take the matter any further."

Ed Miliband egged during market visit

The Labour Leader Ed Miliband has been pelted with eggs during a visit to a market in south London.

Security staff detained his assailant and bundled him to the floor.

A reporter and a cameraman were hit by the flying eggs.

Mr Miliband quickly removed his jacket and handed it to an aide before continuing his tour of the market.
