Six hurt as roof torn off bus

Six people suffered minor injuries today when the roof of a double-decker bus was ripped off as it hit a railway bridge, Greater Manchester Police said. They were treated for cut and bruises. The bus driver was not injured.

Scene of double-decker bus crash in Stockport

Six passengers aboard a double-decker bus in Stockport were left with cuts and bruises after its roof was ripped off as it hit a railway bridge.

Sgt Danny Byrne from Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "It is only by sheer luck that no-one was seriously injured".

Four other people on the bus and its driver were uninjured.
