The Duchess of Cornwall said the Prince of Wales would make a "brilliant" grandfather as she spoke to crowds during a visit.
She told the BBC: "I think it's wonderful news. I think mother, son and father are all well. And I think it's a wonderfully uplifting moment for the country.
"It's very exciting and it's wonderful for the grandfather - he's brilliant with children."
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
