Belgium's King Albert II has abdicated following a 20-year reign, handing over the throne to his son Philippe.

As the UK waits for news of the newest member of the Royal family, Belgium got a new King today. It was a day of spectacular pomp and pageantry, as King Phillipe took over from his father Albert, who has abdicated due to age and failing health.
