Burning trees 'may help reverse global warning'

Burning trees and crops for energy and capturing their carbon emissions could reverse rising temperatures if other climate policies fail, new research claims.

Scientists in Sweden claim that rolling out bioenergy with carbon capture and storage technology (CSS) could actively take emissions out of the atmosphere and push temperatures back below the internationally agreed 2 degrees level needed to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.
