A man being held in connection with a multiple stabbing at a mosque in east Birmingham has been taken to a secure mental health facility, police have said.
The 32-year-old was arrested last night on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in which three men and a police officer were stabbed at a mosque.
A statement from West Midlands Police said:
The suspect was assessed by mental health experts at lunchtime today and was deemed unfit to be interviewed in relation to the attack.
While the investigation continues, the man will be constantly assessed by medics who will alert detectives as soon as he is deemed well enough to undergo questioning.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
