Honours for 2012 athletes

Olympians and Paralympians are to be awarded honours at Buckingham Palace today. Cyclist Laura Trott, Para-Equestrian Sophie Christiansen and Paralympic runner Richard Whitehead will be among those to receive honours.

Trott 'excited' to be honoured at Buckingham Palace

British cyclist and double Olympic gold medalist Laura Trott has tweeted that she is "excited" to visit Buckingham Palace today to receive an OBE.

Trott is one of several Olympians and Paralympians who will be honoured for their success at the London 2012 Games last summer.
