Coldest spring 'in 50 years'

Britain is on track for its coldest spring for more than 50 years following another fortnight of below average temperatures, according to provisional figures from the Met Office.

With an average temperature of 6C, the Met Office has confirmed this year's spring was the fifth coldest since national records began in 1910, and the coldest since 1962.
