Getting some kip: UKIP MEPs caught sleeping on the job

A Conservative MEP has tweeted a photograph supposedly showing two of her UKIP counterparts sleeping during a session of the European Parliament.

Conservative MEP Julie Girling wrote "UKIP MEPs hard at work in European Parliament today" alongside the photo.

UKIP MEP for East Midlands Roger Helmer, pictured in the foreground, later responded on Twitter explaining that he was "pausing for some Zeds in the hemicycle".

"This is what comes from working too hard," he added.
