Significant snowfall across Britain is expected to cause disruption throughout today and tomorrow as the possibility of a white Easter looms.

Freezing temperatures, thought to have made today the coldest March day since 1986, have affected travel across the UK.

Ice and snow has disrupted travel in large parts of the South of England and the unseasonable weather conditions are expected to continue overnight.
