Gizit ere! Teesside teachers get tough on local slang

Pupils at a school on Teesside have been learning that "gizit ere" is not an acceptable proxy for "please give it to me".

Teachers at Sacred Heart Primary believe use of the local dialect is encouraging their students to write words incorrectly in lessons.

They have even tried to get parents on board, writing to them about which words used in everyday parlance are incorrect.
