Polish '2nd language in England'
New figures from the 2011 census show that Polish appears to be the second biggest language in England, with 1% of residents citing it as their main language.
22% of Londoners speak English as a second language
22% of people living in London do not speak English as their main language, according to the ONS.
Outside London this percentage varied from three per cent in the North East to 7% in the West Midlands.
