Cancer-stricken Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez's lung infection has been controlled and his condition is evolving "favourably," the government said in a statement.
A statement said:
Despite his delicate state of health ... in recent days the general medical evolution has been favourable. The respiratory infection is controlled ... the president is conscious.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
The US president also shared a post on Twitter accusing Dr Anthony Fauci of misleading the public over hydroxychloroquine.
