Christopher Tappin was fined $11,357.14 (£7,095) in addition to his 33-month prison sentence for selling surface-to-air missile parts to Iran, a spokeswoman for the US District Court in El Paso, Texas said.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
The US president also shared a post on Twitter accusing Dr Anthony Fauci of misleading the public over hydroxychloroquine.
