New Year's Eve weather: Dry for much of the UK

More rain expected across parts of the Midlands and south-eastern England during the evening and early on in the night - before it dries up from 8pm or 9pm onwards.

By midnight it'll be mostly dry but expect some blustery showers from time to time in the north and west.

Staying blustery - the strongest winds will be in the north and it'll be feeling colder than recent nights, as temperatures fall away through the early hours.
