Labour has won the Corby by-election caused by the resignation of the former Conservative MP Louise Mensch. The Lib Dems lost their deposit. Labour have also held seats of Manchester Central and Cardiff South in by-elections.
The former Conservative MP Louise Mensch, who quit her Corby seat to move to America, has commented on her party losing her seat in the by-election:
Ed Miliband claimed that Middle England was turning its back on David Cameron, after Labour won the Corby by-election on a 12.7% swing.
Labour today held Manchester Central and Cardiff South and Penarth constituency seats in their respective by-elections.
