Boy killed in hit-and-run crash

Two people have been arrested after a 12-year-old boy was killed in a hit and run incident in Bradford last night by a car which had just been stopped by police, the West Yorkshire force confirmed. The accident has been referred to the IPCC.

School pays tribute to hit-and-run victim

The 12-year-old victim of a hit-and-run in Bradford was a "super and capable young lad" whose "future was wide open for him," his headteacher has said.

A statement released by Bradford Academy said the school was "united in grief over the tragic event."

The tragic loss of Bilal Khizar on Saturday night is a devastating blow for everyone connected with this beautiful and unique boy. Everyone at Bradford Academy, and indeed everyone in the community we serve, is grieving for Bilal, and for his family and his friends.
