A British woman has been reportedly freed from kidnappers in Ecuador. She and an Australian woman were captured by a suspected Colombian group while canoeing during a visit to a nature reserve in the Amazon jungle, before being saved by police.
Police and armed forces staff "located and rescued the two girls, Australian and English, kidnapped in Cuyabeno," Interior Minister Jose Serrano said on Twitter, AFP has reported.
It is understood the women were abducted while travelling in a canoe during a visit to the Cuyabeno nature reserve in the Tarapoa region of Ecuador.
They apparently were among five foreigners in a group of seven tourists being led by two local Ecuadorian guides.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
The US president also shared a post on Twitter accusing Dr Anthony Fauci of misleading the public over hydroxychloroquine.
