More than 100,000 people have been evacuated across southwestern China, after multiple earthquakes destroyed thousands of homes and landslides blocked roads across the region, state media reported.
The damage has prevented rescue workers from reaching towns in mountainous areas - the areas worst hit by the quakes.
Some of the roads affected have now been cleared, according to state television.
One of the hardest hit was Yiliang County in Yunnan Province, according to the provincial government's website.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
The US president also shared a post on Twitter accusing Dr Anthony Fauci of misleading the public over hydroxychloroquine.
