Steven Carter said Tia's death left him devastated. He said: "I'm heartbroken, angry, robbed, robbed of my beautiful little girl who I will never see again, hold, kiss, touch. I don't know what to say."
Tia Sharp's family were referred to social services by police and other agencies over issues surrounding abuse of drugs and a disturbance.
Stuart Hazell heard the charges against him read out via video link as he sat alone at a table in Sutton police station.
