Thunderstorms have disrupted traffic in some parts of the country for a second day. Northumbria Police say the Central Motorway in Newcastle has been closed because of floods.
Other roads have also been affected.
The Central Motorway southbound is currently closed at the junction with the Coast Road while flood water is cleared. Diversions are in place. Drivers are reminded to allow extra time for journeys, to reduce speed and to drive carefully.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
