The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating the shooting of a man by police in Surrey last night. The man, who is in his forties, was taken to St George’s Hospital, Tooting in south London following the shooting just before midnight. His condition is described as stable.
At this stage we can confirm that one round was fired by one officer resulting in the man’s injuries and hospitalisation.
A weapon was found at the scene and has been identified by a ballistics expert as a 6mm BB gun which had been painted black.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
