'More than half' of members vote for Home Office strikes
The Public and Commercial Services union said 57% of its members working for the Home Office have voted to go on strike.
The PCS union is in dispute with the Home Office over several issues, including:
- Plans to cut 8,500 jobs
- The threat of compulsory redundancies in some passport offices
- A 1% pay rise cap following a two-year wage freeze
Leaders will meet tomorrow to discuss their next move, which could include a walkout at border controls at ports and airports.
