Hospital thirst death inquest

The coroner at the inquest into the death of Kane Gorny, a patient who died of thirst in while hospital, has recorded a narrative verdict of dehydration by neglect. His parents say they are "devastated by the number of missed opportunities."

Gorny family 'devastated' by missed opportunities to prevent Kane's death

After the coroner's verdict, James Stevenson, the solicitor for Kany Gorny's family, said they were "devastated by the number of missed opportunities" to prevent his death.

Mr Stevenson said: "There were systemic and individual failures in the level of care provided to Kane."

He added: "Kane was a well-liked, adoring and loving son, brother and friend."
