Hospital thirst death inquest

The coroner at the inquest into the death of Kane Gorny, a patient who died of thirst in while hospital, has recorded a narrative verdict of dehydration by neglect. His parents say they are "devastated by the number of missed opportunities."

Coroner to write to hospital about nurses involved in fluid management

Deputy Coroner Dr Shirley Radcliffe told the inquest into Kane Gorny's death she would write to St George's hospital about nurses involved in fluid management and sedation following his treatment there.

A post mortem examination revealed high sodium levels caused by dehydration had caused Mr Gorny's death.
