Eight SPL teams expected to vote against Rangers re-entry

Most of the clubs in the Scottish Premier League (SPL) are expected to vote against the admission of newco Rangers to the top flight of Scottish football when they meet at 10am today. This is how the vote is expected to be split:

  • Yes votes: Rangers
  • No votes: Dundee United, Hearts, Hibernian, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Aberdeen, St Johnstone, St Mirren, Motherwell
  • Unknown: Celtic, Kilmarnock, Ross County

Some of the clubs have cited concerns about preserving the integrity of the SPL, and of the need to send a clear message that the way the Rangers FC has been run in the past is unacceptable. Read what the clubs have said in their own words here.
