Judge: Zimmerman engaged in a 'material falsehood'

MSNBC is reporting that Judge Kenneth Lester said George Zimmerman was engaged in a "material falsehood" about his finances. He did not tell the court about the $135,000 raised through a website when bail was posted at $150,000 on April 20.

Prosecutors argued that Zimmerman had "misrepresented, misled, and deceived the court" during the original bail hearing not only about his finances, but about whether he had two passports.

Zimmerman's defence lawyer Mark O'Mara admitted his client did have a second passport, but said: "It's not devious or inappropriate" to have a second one if the first is lost or stolen.

He said Zimmerman filed for a second passport after mistakenly thinking his original one was lost.
