The leader of the Catholic church in Ireland, Cardinal Sean Brady, has apologised to a victim of paedophile priest Brendan Smyth. Brendan Boland was among those targeted by the predatory sex attacker in 1975.
The leader of the Catholic church in Ireland, Cardinal Sean Brady, has apologised to a victim of paedophile priest Brendan Smyth. Brendan Boland was among those targeted by the predatory sex attacker in 1975.
Cardinal Brady told Ireland's RTE he now realised that the parents of children who were being abused by Brendan Smyth should have been informed about the allegations of abuse being made against him.
He said: "Definitely the parents should have been informed. That's quite clear."
Dr Brady said he apologised without hesitation to Brendan Boland, and to all survivors of abuse.
He said he would also like to personally apologise to Mr Boland, and hoped to do so in the future.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
The US president also shared a post on Twitter accusing Dr Anthony Fauci of misleading the public over hydroxychloroquine.
