The UK's 1,000 wealthiest people are now worth a record £414 billion, with Lakshmi Mittal topping the Rich List for the eighth year running.

- There are 77 billionaires in the 2012 Rich List, two more than the previous record of 75 in 2008.
- Individuals need at least £72 million to make the list, £2 million more than last year.
- The richest woman is Staffordshire-born former Miss UK Kirsty Bertarelli, who shares a £7.4 billion fortune with her husband Ernesto.
- Andrey Andreev, the London-based Russian businessman who founded the online dating site Badoo, is a new entrant with a worth of £500 million.
