Samsung tops mobile phone sales - trumping Nokia
Samsung Electronics has become the world's largest seller of mobile phones after it recorded the highest number of sales in the first quarter of 2012, the Associated Press reported.
It said a surge in Galaxy smartphones helped the company outshine rivals such as Nokia, previously the number one provider, to clinch the top spot.
The company's net profit nearly doubled from a year earlier to a record £2.76 billion for the fiscal quarter.
