Record number in 'food poverty'

The number of people relying on food banks to feed their family has increased dramatically in the past year. The Trussell Trust says 128,000 people are now using their food banks. 13 million people live below the poverty line in the UK.

More than 100,000 Britons will be in need of food bank assistance

Figures from the Trussell Trust reveal a doubling in the number of people needing help from food banks in some parts of the UK.

The Charity says it fed 60 thousand people last year - however this year the figure is set to exceed 100 thousand.

13 million Britons are currently living in poverty.
