Titanic 100th anniversary

A series of events are being held to mark the 100th anniversary of the Titanic disaster of April 1912. Relatives of the victims are attending a memorial service commemorating the ship setting sail from Southampton 100 years ago.

'Ireland's Titanic Village' remembers its 97 casualties

On a beautiful lakeside in Ireland's west coast of county Mayo lies the ancient parish of Addergoole and the tiny village Lahardane - which is called 'Ireland's Titanic

Village'.

One hundred years ago 14 of its residents set sail on the doomed luxury liner - only 3 survived.

In honour of their memory, residents of Lahardane and the descendants of the three survivors have gathered to commemorate their bravery.
