Dick Fedorcio, the suspended Met Police Director of Public Affairs, has resigned. He was to face gross misconduct charges over a contract awarded to the PR company run by the former News of the World deputy editor Neil Wallis.

Police press chief quits after Met launches disciplinary proceedings

Dick Fedorcio was facing allegations of gross misconduct after the decision to hire the News of the World's former executive editor Neil Wallis to give PR advice for the Metropolitan Police. An investigation by the IPCC found Mr Fedorcio had a "case to answer" over the procurement of the contract.
