Whitney 'died from drowning'
A Los Angeles coroner has said that the singer Whitney Houston died of accidental drowning due to the effects of heart disease and cocaine use.
She was found dead in a bath in her Beverley Hills hotel room in February.
Whitney ruling ends speculation about death
A Los Angeles coroner has ruled Whitney Houston died by drowning, but heart disease and cocaine use were contributing factors.
Houston was found submerged in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 11th, one day before the Grammy Awards. There were a number of bottles of prescription drugs in the room.
The Coroner's spokesman Craig Harvey says cocaine metabolites were found in Houston's system, and said the results indicated Houston was a chronic cocaine user.
