Residents of an anti-fracking protest camp set up near Kirby Misperton, Ryedale say the support they've been shown from the local community "has been awesome."

Campaigners there say they are committed to staying until Third Energy renounce their intention to frack.

They set up camp just before Christmas, after the High Court rejected a legal move to stop plans for fracking at a well to the south-west of the village.

Organisers say hundreds of people have been visiting the camp bringing bedding, food and essentials.

Third Energy wants to test for shale gas at its site near Kirby Misperton, between Malton and Pickering.

The firm says it has been drilling wells and producing gas safely and discreetly there for over twenty years and will continue to maintain their same standards in the future.
