Darlington boxer's world title disappointment
Darlington boxer Stuart Hall has failed in his latest world title bid, after being beaten by fellow-Brit Lee Haskins at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday night.
It was a second successful defence of his IBF bantamweight title for Haskins - with a hard-fought unanimous decision victory.
Darlington boxer Stuart Hall may never again fight for a world title, having lost his in 2014, but impressed in truly testing Haskins and consistently landing the heavier punches.
It was Haskins' superior mobility and punch variety that secured his latest win, via scores of 115-113, 116-112 and 117-111 on the three judges' scorecards.
He did not entirely convince, however, and the crowd present booed the decision before cheering Hall.
It concluded with the challenger, Hall, as the aggressor and in the ascendancy, and while Haskins may have deserved the decision, the judges' scores appeared too wide.
