Judge sentences men in connection with Yarm and Middlesbrough jewellers armed robberies

Eleven men have been sentenced at Teesside Crown Court in connection with two violent armed robberies at Market Cross Jewellers in Yarm and Middlesbrough.

Eight members of what police called an organised crime group entered early guilty pleas in relation to the robberies in November 2014 and January 2015.

Over £600,000 of stock was taken and staff were threatened with weapons including one item which resembled a handgun.

Sentencing underway for Yarm and Middlesbrough robberies

Samuel Hughes from Manchester has been sentenced to 12 years for conspiracy to commit robbery in connection to the incidents in Yarm and Middlesborugh.

Antony Northmore from Cleveland has been sentenced to 12 years for conspiracy to commit robbery in connection to the incidents in Yarm and Middlesbrough.
