No change as all four Police and Crime Commissioners re-elected

There was no change in the North East as all four Police and Crime Commissioners were re-elected.

Vera Baird was re-elected as the Police and Crime Commissioner for Northumbria:

  • Vera Baird (Lab) 180,479
  • Stewart Hay (Con) 58,713
  • Melanie Hurst (UKIP) 52,293
  • Jonathan Wallace (LD) 34,75

Ron Hogg was re-elected as the Police and Crime Commissioner for Durham:

  • Peter Cutherbertson (Conservative) 18,797
  • Ron Hogg (Labour) 50,915
  • Craig Martin (Liberal Democrat) 10,060

Julia Mulligan was re-elected as the Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire after second preference votes were counted.

Results after second round of votes:

  • Julia Mulligan (Conservative) 65,018 votes
  • Steve Howley (Labour) 44,759

Results after first round of votes:

  • James Blanchard (Lib Dem) 13,856
  • Julia Mulligan (Conservative) 53,078
  • Stephen Howley (Labour) 34,351
  • Mike Pannet (Independent) 30,984

Barry Coppinger was re-elected as the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland after second preference votes were counted.
