The champion paralympian Stephen Miller says he is humbled and proud after receiving an MBE in the New Year's Honours.
He is one of scores of people across the North East and North Yorkshire who have been recognised for their achievements.
Janice Pallas has been awarded an MBE for her charity fundraising efforts, Dr Reginald Carr also has an MBE for charity work and Sarfraz Mian has received a BEM for services to UK trade.
