Tour of Britain: Prestigious cycling race comes to Northumberland

Competitors will be riding through our region on September 9th and 10th for the Tour of Britain.

During Stage 4 athletes will pass through Wooler, Alnwick and Warkworth before finishing the leg at Blyth. For Stage 5 riders start from Prudhoe and travel west, leaving the county through Hadrian's Wall towards the finish in Hartside Fell, Cumbria.

Pictures: Prudhoe prepares for Tour of Britain

People in Prudhoe are preparing to welcome cyclists in the fifth stage of the Tour of Britain. Yesterday, hundreds of spectators lined the route for stage four. Owain Doull is currently the top British rider. He is in sixth position.
