Sage Gateshead to get an extra £1.1 million

The Sage Gateshead is to get an extra £1.1 million in funding.

The money will come from Sage Group, the major Newcastle-based software company, which has been supporting the music venue since it opened in 2004.

The cash will pay for education programmes and musical performances. The new money brings the total amount raised during the Sage's 10th birthday appeal to £5.2 million.
