Fundraising for Gateshead mugging victim Alan Barnes will be celebrated at a gala ball at Newcastle's Assembly Rooms this evening.
A cheque for £330,135 will be officially handed over later.
Alan Barnes, the Gateshead man who was a victim of an assault which shocked the country, said today that his attacker should be punished.
Richard Gatiss has a "drugs background" and was taking legal highs when he attacked the pensioner from Gateshead.
A second fundraising page has been set up for Alan Barnes, but it's thought it could be fake. £329k was raised for him after a mugging.
