No third party involvement in South Shields death

Police have confirmed that a post-mortem examination on a woman who died in South Shields has revealed no evidence of third party involvement in her death.

Officers were called to Devonshire Street at around 5:12am on Saturday where the 34-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident but has been released without charge.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and a report with be prepared for the coroner.
