A 22-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a stabbing in North Shields.
Police found a 43-year-old man with a wound to his thigh at about 2.30 am on Saturday.
He was taken to hospital but died later that morning.
Two men arrested yesterday, a 27-year-old man on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit GBH and a 21-year-old man on suspicion of GBH, remain in police custody as enquiries continue.
Extra officers continue to be in the area to offer reassurance to residents.
Police are appealing for anyone with information on the incident, which happened on Saturday, September 27, on Aldwych Drive, to come forward.
